The clown on the right side of the picture was called "Candy." Radio personality Phil Sheridan played the clown. (Phil also did the weekend weather on WCAU-TV.)

The hobo clown was "Carney." His actual name was Carney C. Carney, portrayed by Harry Levan. Later, Harry had his own show on WCAU-TV, Saturdays at 10 am called Carney the Clown.

The clowns, "Candy," played by Phil Sheridan (on left) and "Carney," played by Harry Levan (on right in hobo outfit) lead some kids onto the stage. Tony Verna, a long-time producer/director at WCAU-TV e-mailed: The shot of Phil and Harry leading in the kids was the show's opening shot.
