The Broadcast Pioneers of Philadelphia

Kevin Callahan, a sports-writer for the Courier-Post newspaper for over 25 years, is currently the sports columnist.

Callahan, who played high school and college basketball and has coached basketball on the grade school and high school levels, writes commentary on the four Philadelphia professional sports teams.

Callahan, 50, was a two-year starter in basketball and captain at both Camden Catholic High School and Ursinus College. He was inducted to the Camden Catholic Basketball Hall of Fame in 1989. At Ursinus, he was a backup point guard on the 1981 Division III Final Four team and started in 1982 for the Elite Eight NCAA tournament team.
